Report of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s Visit to Balkh Province

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, left for Balkh on Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018. On this trip, he was accompanied by the government officials. President Ghani was warmly welcomed by the local authorities and the people of Balkh at the arrival of Mowlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi airport. The purpose of this visit was to inaugurate two electricity projects, survey the general security situation in the northern provinces, and to meet with the drought affected and recent floods in these provinces. After finishing his trip to Balkh, the president returned to Kabul on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
